Christmas Spending Spree
Christmas comes but once a year – personally I’m glad it is only once a year because buying gifts/presents for all and sundry is now completely and utterly out of the question. Money is tight as everybody knows – (most people know) - not everybody, but the majority of people. I just want to get that straight before I continue. Parents and grandparents are once again spending cash they can ill afford just to please in many circumstances their kids and other people’s kids.” Mom, can I have,” might as well live for the day “Mom I want - Mom so and so is having a so and so for Christmas, I should have one as well – he’s younger than me.” And so goes a vicious circle of spending hard earned brass just to keep not only your kids happy, but also to secure your happiness too. Anything for a quiet life….. The stores are packed once again with all kinds of stuff – from simple board games to more sophisticated acquisitions – dependent entirely how much you feel you should spend under personal circumstances. Once again credit cards are going to take a bashing as usual and I think that this year will be a bumper year and spending will go completely out of control because of economic restrictions are going to bite very hard – very hard indeed. It will in my opinion, people will say “sod it” might as well live for today – hang tomorrow. Sensible people will have bought presents early to avoid being ripped off by unscrupulous retailers all to eager to make a fast buck from an unsuspecting public, so be warned. In January next year, we can all look forward to an increase in VAT. On top of the already financial burden and restrictions which have been placed upon us. Christmas is a time not only for giving, but a time of loving too, never forget that and help as many people as you can over this period and more Happy shopping…..And have a trouble free Christmas.
